To be able to be an electrical contractor, it is require that a person have at least eight thousand or approximately four years of practical work experience, provided that the said experience is in a supervisory or managerial capacity.  Furthermore, the experience must either be in the commercial, industrial, or residential setting.  Maintenance experience will not count as part of the four years. A year of electrician education will be considered as half a year of practical experience. A copy fo the transcript and the diploma is necessary for this application.

 

Employees would need to attached a work affidavit for their application for the license.  The work affidavit will be used a reference to verify the number of hours worked, whether or not the eight thousand work hours requirement is met or not. The work affidavit may only be filled up by designated people.

 

For applicants at this website who have their own business and are not employed, they are required to send a notarized letter stating there in the history of their work and their business and the type of electrical experience acquired throughout the practice.

 

A two by two recent photograph is also a requirement of the licensing exam.
